Getting to the Closing Table, Together

Meet Ruma Mazumdar, ESQ.

Founder & Principal Attorney, (She/Her)

Ruma is no stranger to the real estate industry or entrepreneurship. Born and raised in New Jersey as a child of immigrants, she watched her parents found a successful mortgage brokerage - at a time when women and minorities in real estate were few and far between. Now, nearly 20 years later, Ruma has decided it is time to level the playing field when it comes to real estate ownership and investment.

  • Kayla Riley (Paralegal) began her journey at Ohio Wesleyan University, graduating in 2013, and furthered her education at Capital University Law School, graduating in 2016. Her career started in a Central Ohio Law Office and Title Company, where she specialized in clearing title issues and preparing real estate documents. After two years, Kayla became a licensed title agent.

Transitioning to a role with the Federal Government, she used federal policies to support local farmers. However, the call of real estate law beckoned, leading her to join Ruma at Key Esquire. Remarkably, Kayla has embraced remote working from Central Ohio, showcasing her adaptability and mastery of technology.

With seven years in the legal field, Kayla has found her niche in Key Esquire for the past two years, thriving in a team environment. Her passion extends to teaching and training colleagues in case software, vital for enhancing client experiences. Kayla takes pride in shaping Key Esquire’s approach to client satisfaction in every transaction.

Outside work, Kayla cherishes time with her family, enjoys gardening, and loves to travel.

  • Nokuthula (Thuli) Nkosi (Assistant), meaning Tranquillity in isiZulu, is the creative and communicative force at Key Esquire. Thuli (pronounced as Two-Lee) excels in social media management, content creation, marketing, and serves as the welcoming voice for clients. Thuli, a South African native, ignited her passion for art and communication in high school, Ashton International College. She is currently pursuing a degree in Public Relations and Communications, with aspirations for an MBA in Communication Management.

With six years of customer care experience and expertise in social media management, Thuli embodies kindness, empathy, and a dedication to assistance – principles central to her personal and professional ethos. Believing in the power of compassion, she lives by the principle: 'A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle,' striving to be a source of light and positivity in every interaction.

Outside work, Thuli runs a home-based beauty bar, specializing in professional makeup and nail services, and exploring Special Effects Makeup. Her philosophy extends beyond work, believing that every act of kindness contributes to a more compassionate world.

  • Agustina Sanchez Barbeito (Legal Assistant) began her legal career at the University of Buenos Aires, where she earned her law degree. Her professional journey began in a notary’s office, where she specialized in client intake and the preparation of property title documents. She subsequently broadened her expertise at several law firms, developing her skills as a legal and commercial assistant.

Agustina has adeptly adapted to remote work, showcasing her proficiency with technology, which has been instrumental in her success. After amassing seven years of experience in the legal sector, she has firmly established her role at Key Esquire.
